Attractions in Los Angeles
The Top Ten List
Here are our top ten not to be missed attractions in the Los Angeles metro area. We use "Los Angeles" here to include Long Beach Harbor, Pasadena and the South Bay.
10. Grauman's Chinese & Egyptian Theaters: They made the "red carpet" famous and immortalized the hands, feet and even hoofs of Hollywood's most famous celebrities. 9. World Cuisine and a Damn Good Martini
We bow to the great chefs of LA in deep gratitude. LA is the only city in the world where you can get a hundred variations of the taco; Japanese tacos, Korean tacos, Vietnamese tacos, Raw Vegan - the list is endless. You can also find exquisite cuisine in every ethnic flavor possible - and of course there's the classic Musso & Frank martini. More on best restaurants in LA...
8. NoHo Arts District: An enclave of independent, small theaters run by fearless thespians who love their craft. In a city of 50,000 actors - all competing for a role in something written by Vince Gilligan or Aaron Sorkin (if he comes back) or even better, something, anything directed by Sir Ridley Scott - there's a good chance you'll catch the next Best Supporting Actor honing his skills in a small theater in NoHo. It is a uniquely LA experience to watch an unknown actor sweat, cry, and laugh his way to authenticity. You can almost hear Debbie Allen in the background tapping her cane on the wooden floor; "This, right here is where you start paying." It's like FAME without the Afros, leg warmers and short shorts. 7. Korean Spas: Here's the best part - the better ones are open 24/7 - that's 24 hours seven days a week. So, you can always make it to the spa. Stretching out on a heated jade stone floor in a Koreatown spa is one of the most relaxing and healthy attractions in Los Angeles. Find out more about Korean Spas.
6. Whale Watching: The great Pacific whale migration - Blue whales, Gray whales, Humpback whales, Fin whales and Orcas all migrate along the Pacific coast. May-November is the best time to see blue whales; and if you want to glimpse gray whales, go sometime between December and April. More on Long Beach attractions...
