Founded by scholar and author, Vietnamese Buddhist monk Venerable Dr. Thich Thein-An, the International Buddhist Meditation Center was one of the first centers to ordain western monks. Dr. Thein's vision was to create a center that brought the various branches of Buddhism together in one place, and make the traditions accessible to western students.
