Larry Edmunds

In business for over 70 years, Larry Edmunds Book Shop is Mecca for movie buffs in Hollywood. It's a hands on browser's paradise, crammed to the ceiling with 20,000 movie and theater books, 6,000 original posters and half a million movie photos. When owner Jeffrey Mantor reaches into his overstuffed filing cabinets to find that signed photo of Dorothy Dandridge or Kim Novak, the tattoos of Rita Hayworth and Anita Ekberg on his biceps tell you the guy knows his stuff. They host book signings by authors, stars, starlets and stuntmen. They often run their signings in partnership with the nearby American Cinematheque, combining film scholarship with screenings of classic movies. Recent events have included tributes to Glenn Ford, Jean Harlow, Errol Flynn, film noir tough guy Charles McGraw and America's sit-com Jeannie, Barbara Eden. Put Amazon and eBay on pause, and drop by for a browse in one of Hollywood Boulevard's oldest unique gift stores.
